Northwest AEA Career and Technical Education (CTE) Advisory Summits are full-day, hands-on, experiential events designed to help strengthen CTE programs and directly impact student success. Each Advisory Summit focuses on a specific CTE program area, bringing together teachers, administrators, community college partners, and business/industry representatives for meaningful collaboration.
At the Advisory Summits, participants will:
Reflect and plan – Use the most recent program review/self-study as a tool to identify strengths, address challenges, and set meaningful goals for each CTE program.
Collaborate with peers – Share ideas and learn from other CTE teachers about classroom strategies, Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) implementation, and creative ways to boost student engagement.
Connect with industry and postsecondary partners – Build relationships with experts who can help create authentic, career-connected learning experiences for students.
Explore key program enhancements – Learn strategies for integrating Industry-Recognized Credentials (IRCs), expanding Work-Based Learning (WBL), and ensuring your program aligns with current workforce expectations.
Stay informed – Get updates on CTE legislation, Perkins, and Regional Planning Partnership (RPP) requirements so programs are consistently strong and compliant.
